Who we are

A professionally structured agency built around the child.

Sonder & Solace is a for-profit corporation, legally registered under the Alberta Corporations Act. We combine a deep commitment to human service with rigorous corporate governance.

Our model is engineered for what families, caseworkers, and courts need most: a sustainable, well-resourced, and reliable operation that holds the line on safety, documentation, and consistency — visit after visit, transport after transport.

01 / Child-first

Safety and emotional security before all else.

Every protocol and staffing decision is designed first around the child's physical and emotional safety — then around the logistics that surround them.

02 / Neutral & objective

A documented, observable record.

We are an independent, neutral third party. Our role is to observe, document, and report factually — never to interpret, advocate, or recommend.

03 / Reliable by design

Built for the long term.

Corporate-grade governance and operational discipline mean cases don't fall through gaps. We are structured to be there for the full length of a family's journey.

Services

Two services. One uncompromising standard of care.

We provide services in the child's home where appropriate — and in agency vehicles that meet all provincial licensing, insurance, and safety requirements.

01 — Supervised Visitation

Monitored time, gently held.

A trained staff member is present with the child for the full duration of every visit — observing, supporting, and intervening if needed. Visits and observations take place in the child's own home — the most familiar and settling environment for them.

02 — Safe Transportation

Continuous duty of care, door to door.

Safe, supervised transportation of children between locations — in accordance with agency policy, court orders, and Alberta safety standards. The same staff member stays with the child until handoff.

“The most useful thing we do is the least visible — being predictable. A child who knows what to expect every Saturday at 10 a.m. is a child whose nervous system can rest.”
